Joel C. Lamangan, starting in the movie business as an actor in 1982, is the workhorse of contemporary Filipino cinema. Starting as a promissing and ambitious dramatic director through the 90s the now king of mainstream helmed since 1991 more than 50 feature films from a variety of genres. His favourites are melodramas (sometimes spiced
with sexploitation and action) and romantic comedies, though – among the real gems of the digressive.
