Cui Zi’en
The author, filmmaker and producer Cui Zi’en is mainly known as queer auteur and an award winnning guest at international film festivals. He is also a researcher at the Film Academy in Beijing.

The Yuanhai migrant’s children school was suddenly closed for unknown reason. The pupils were at a ruined manufactory then even in the street to go on their studies. The number of pupils dropped from 720 to 16. The children had no choice but to move to farther schools with higher fees or to return to their hometown meaning no more education. A few even continued to live on their own in the closed down school building…But each one of them kept some hope and optimism contesting the struggles from day to day.
