Mahatma – The Gandhi Special

The 30th of January 2008 marks the 60th death anniversary of Mohandas “Mahatma” Karamchand Gandhi. He is known as a founding father of a nation, as an icon of non-violence and as a role model for a generation of freedom fighters and peace activists. To mark the occasion, we are discussing “What about Gandhi today?”. Green chilies e.V. and the GandhiServe Foundation are especially proud to present the German Premiere of “Gandhi My Father” in presence of the director Feroz Khan. More selected films on Gandhi, a Video installation by Sharmila Samant, a Panel discussion with distinguished guests and an exhibition with rare photgraphies shall inspire thoughts about how Gandhis ideas and teachings are interpreted in the modern media, how do we deal with this historical figure?
